Enable Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10

Windows 10 has a lot of apps with their modern UI, one of them being the Photos app. While the Photos app itself has a lot of features and customizations which we all appreciate but might not always use those features. Users updating from Windows 7,8,8.1 might find it quite difficult to get used to the lack of Windows Photo Viewer. Follow the below steps to enable the Windows Photo Viewer.

Enable the Windows Photo Viewer on Windows 10:

Step 1: Click here to download the .REG file on your PC.                         http://windows.intowindows.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/My%20uploaded%20files/PhotoViewer.reg

Step 2: Copy all contents of the web page and save it as PhotoViewer.reg using the Save As option in Notepad.

Step 3: Double-click the PhotoViewer.reg and click on ‘Yes’ when prompted with the confirmation dialog to merge it.

Step 4: Now click on the ‘Ok’ button to finish writing to the registry.You have now enabled the Windows Photo Viewer.

Step 5: To make Windows Photo Viewer as your default app for photo viewing go to control panel and open the ‘Default Programs’ page. Click on the ‘Windows Photo Viewer’ tab on the left and select ‘Set this program as default’. You’re done.
