Facebook hopes some friendly competition will get you to spend even more time in Messenger.And eventually, Instant Games could earn Facebook ad dollars from developers promoting their games, or a cut of payments, though there are no in-game purchases allowed yet. They load in seconds since they’re built on the HTML5 mobile web standard, rather than having to be downloaded like native apps
Instant Games launches today in 30 countries with 17 games from classic developers like Bandai Namco, Konami, and Taito. Instant Games are available on newer iOS and Android devices and can be found by hitting the game controller icon in your Facebook Messenger
Facebook made it very simple to start playing: In the latest version of the app, open a conversation with a friend (or friends!), tap on the game controller icon just below where you type your message, and choose a game to start playing right away. After you finish a round, people in the conversation will see your score and will have the opportunity to challenge you back. People can also discover games within the Messenger search field, or on Facebook News Feed where they can play solo or challenge friends back in Messenger.So lets’ Game on have some Fun.
